Autumnal fabric fair in Kerkrade, The Netherlands

Motivational Handbag

As already told I visited the Dutch Fabric Market last year with my sewing friends. While my fabric that I bought then is ripening my friend was quicker and sewed a shirt and a loop out of her fabric. The little left over pieces she gave to me as she knows that I like scraps for doing applications.

Seeing the scraps I immediately knew what to do with them – a small bag fitting to her new outfit. With the ready measurements of 19cm by 19cm it has room for a mobile phone, hankerchiefs and all the other small things that a woman needs for an outing. From my purchases last year I had some faux leather left that matched her fabric perfectly and so this little bag developed with the wonderful designs by FruBlomgren on a blank in-the-hoop bag by RockQueen – and of course with a motivational saying, as we hard working mothers need it from time to time. Thank God, greens are not my colours otherwise I might have kept that sweet little bag to myself.

At least I made up my mind and have the resolution that until the next market in Mai I will use one of my fabric for a dress or shirt and make myself a similar matching bag!
