After having visited so many sights yesterday the children wish for some shopping today. So we decide to walk the avenue of liberty (pt. Avenida da Liberdade) nearby. Even though the trees are almost leafless it is beautiful to walk beneath them and to look at all the different statues dedicated to liberty.
Highlight for the children is finding the Hard Rock Café which they liked in Lanzarote so much. To eat there is too expensive for us but a hoodie for the daughter is affordable.
Half way up the avenue the children are tired of walking, so when we spot little souvenier stalls (is this already an avents market?) we go shopping again. The handbags made from cork are so pretty that I am almost tempted to buy one. But as I have already bought cork fabric and lots of bag patterns I resist and only take a picture.
Over the place Rossio we walk to the look-out terrace above the elevator Santa Justa. From there the view is phantastic over the older part of Lisbon. We can see the castle San Jorge and the Thanos river.
Furthermore we discover that the cathedral that we can see from our window is only a ruin as it is missing its roof.
For dinner we visit again the Time-Out-Market. This time it is incredible full, we have to search long to find a place to sit. I help myself to a tomato soup which is served in a bread bowl – isn’t that originell?
