Sew-along for a table runner – a second try

On first sight I was in love with the design for the October sew-along of Sweet pea so I decided to join: a pretty forest scene with our favourite forest animals: squirrels, fox, deer, owl and hedgehog. My second try on a sew-along after my first one failed because of my broken machine.

So, I bought the designs, chose fabric, cut fabric and did the first block – aren’t the squirrels marvellous? Well, and then life happened. Today I wanted to do block number 2 and 3 in the hope of doing 4 and 5 tomorrow.

But then I got the news that a dear friend has died who had a big influence on my life with my children. This evening was the requiem and of course I left everything to attend.

Writing my blog now is my way to stop my tears. Death is part of our life but still I do suffer when someone dies especially if someone is taken before it seemed due. Only a couple of weeks ago a schoolfriend of my daughter had a deadly accident. Though I did not know the girl personally it distresses me badly. So, how do you manage if someone dies that you know?

Therefore I will not be able to finish my tablerunner until the deadline tomorrow evening. Perhaps it will work better next time.
