When I found my UFO I was searching for a special fabric as a lining for a bag. Not just any bag but one as an envelope for a money present for a dear friend.
Even when a gift receiver has explicitly wished to be presented with money, I never liked this type of present. Even though it is a quite comfortable and quick one – just an envelope and a card with the bills. But for me this always seemed lacking love and creativity and thoughtfulness about the recipient.
But thanks to my great embroidery hobby this dilemma is non-existend. Now I can gift the money in a pretty ITH bag that looks gorgous and is also useful and individual. And if I can do an embroidery complimenting a theme which is near to the recipients heart – then it is perfect. Just like this beautiful litte bag (14x20cm) by RockQueen for a person loving poppies. Faux leather on the outside and as lining the wonderful poppy fabric by FruBlomgren that I last year at Spoonflower during a very short sale.
I liked the bag so much, that I almost did not gift it. It would be marvellous to my new poppy themed dress. But I still have some fabric left, so I can do another one for me. Perhaps even a bigger size, so that purse, mobile and hankerchiefs will fit into it.
