Heartful to scraps

Though the spare part of my machine has not arrived yet, I really wanted to do FruBlomgrens quilted heart.

Because of the notch in my race embroidery is not so easy as usual. First problem is that the thread shreds quite often. Second problem is that the bobbin thread is showing on top even though the tension is on the lowest point. But when I use colored bobbin thread noone will see.

But I really wanted to try the pretty heart because little fabric scraps can be used. These are scattered inside the heart, secured with water-soluble stabilizer and quilted . This looks lovely and futhermore gives me a good feeling because I did not waste fabric at all

The patch I made is supposed to become part of a patchwork book cover but more on that later.
