Seasonal table decoration

Only two nights left until the first advent. Time to decorate for the season and get into christmas mood! Today I fetched the box with the seasonal decoration out of the cellar to start decorating early tomorrow morning. On top of the box I found  the table runner with fitting placemats that I embroidered last year. Seeing them I was reminded that I did not finish the runner. As the designs are part of FruBlomgrens advent calendar 2017 Marianne released from 1st of December until the 24th each day a wonderful design and I did not keep up with stitching.

To complete the nativity scene I still have to stitch the left side of the stable with the pigs and the Frida angel. I just love applications as this is the perfect way to use all the small pieces of fabric that otherwise would end in the dustbin. For the stable I used pieces of our self-made chair cover. Josef and Maria wear snippets of my africa quilt, and two of the kings wear clothes out of the pieces of my childrens’s first star singer capes.

By the way the whole tablerunner was the test stiching for my childrens’ new star singers capes, that I sewed at the beginning of this year and about which I will report in a couple of days.

Furthermore I am looking forward to FruBlomgrens Advent calendar 2018 which is themed Angels!
